New art for me! YIPPEE!

So I've had this page from a magazine torn out and hanging on my 'things I love that inspire me board' for months now. It even made it through our move from Mass to NH.  It shows a couple of inspiring paintings from artist Jessica Gonacha/Swift (recently married) that I just fell in love with and really connected to.  They remind me of a series I'm working on called 'interconnected'.

Well,  One day Tommy and I were walking the streets of downtown Portsmouth and passed my favorite art gallery Nahcotta.  Of course, I had to stop and peek in the windows.  And to my utmost surprise, there was my favorite painting from Jessica Swift right there on the wall!!! The original painting of what I've been staring at on my inspiration board for months was on the market for sale right in front of my very own eyes!  Proceeding to squeak and squeal, Tommy wondering if I was choking on something, I showed him the piece through the window.
When we got home,  I took him right over to my board where the painting was printed in the magazine.  wow.

So life got busy, new art was by now up at Nahcotta and I figured I missed my chance to get it.   After yoga class on Sunday, I was napping in the car while Tommy was walking around.  When I opened my eyes from my nap I saw the painting right in front of my face!  Tommy had sneaked over to Nahcotta, found it and surprised me!  He said he just had to get it once he saw the title, 'You Simply Glow'.
What a lovely surprise indeed :-)  It makes me smile everyday.  And it is my first official, original piece of art in my collection.  Oh Happy Day!

  1. Best blog post ever!! Oh my goodness, I love how serendipitous you getting the painting was! I'm so glad to know the story behind it. Yay! This is definitely one of my faves, so I'm glad it's in a loving home. :) Thank you so much for buying the painting (Tommy) and also for the lovely words about my work (Jen)!!
